Our past can be painful.
All of us have pain from previous seasons in our lives, that can be anything from slightly irritating, to downright debilitating.
But when pain isn’t dealt with and stays buried deep inside of you, it can and most likely will, manifest physically in your body. It will take on (morph) into things like: Bitterness, rejection, anger, resentment, self-hating (like low self-esteem, not feeling worthy enough, hating others, and the list goes on.)
Let me ask you a question and I want you to think about the first thing that comes to you… How is your heart right now? Answer out loud if you can.
I want to talk about your heart for a moment. After all, the heart is the well spring of your life (meaning it’s the source of your life), and it’s up to us to guard it closely. I have come to know that when I am in pain of any kind, it’s hard for me to stop and think about my heart.
But we can’t stay there!
Let’s take a quick road trip to Psalm 73, beginning in v.21 Psalm 73:21 “ For my heart was embittered and I was pierced within.” Another translation says, “For my heart was in ferment, and I was pierced in my kidneys.”
That word embittered in the Hebrew is “chamets” which means to be sour or leavened. The word ferment means to “be in a state of agitation.” When the heart is in a state of agitation, when it is in pain whether from past hurts, past or present sins, things we have done or things that others have done to us that have gone unforgiven, it will go so deep that it will affect the organs of your body. It will cause a disconnect in the very mechanisms in our bodies that bring about healing.
I’ve been saying this for a long time: disease is spiritual and it begins in the heart!
And I can almost assure you it will manifest physically if not dealt with.
The condition of our hearts is so vital, because it affects how we are able to healthily relate to others. And further, how we are able to help others around us get healthy as well.
Take the necessary steps TODAY to start (or continue in) your emotional healing and wellness.
Pursue it. Let go of the past pains, so you can take hold of the new beginnings in front of you.
In a good way, the world is waiting for you to be well. They need the life you are intended to bring.

Hi Julie, Andrea recommends you read her book “I Am Resilient”. She thinks it could help you.
Julie
I am walking where you are right now. Trying to heal my heart and survive the controlling abuse that continues. I too need some advise on how to do that!
Hi Sabra, Andrea thinks her book “I Am Resilient” can be a helpful for you to read.
I’m with you both! How? This speaks so loud to me! How? Lord how!?
How?
Yup. HOW.
My heart is healing from bitterness and hate. My hurt comes from my husband’s adultery back in Jan. 2009. Trials that led me to Jesus. And it is always 2 sides to the coin, my husband is a fine man, it was I who took him for granted and just assumed he would never leave me! But, God. With Him in our hearts and lives we can forgive, and heal, and become His help meet to our husbands. In all situations. I’ve read Andrea’s book JESUS GIRL, awesome testimony on how God got her through her hurt and pain. I can’t wait to read I AM RESILIENT.
